Frequently Asked Questions

1. What types of photography sessions do you offer?

We offer a variety of photography sessions tailored to preschoolers, including:

  • Individual portraits, outdoor play based and posed photographs
  • Class photos, traditional group and composite
  • Staff photos, individual and group
  • Website/promotional photography
  • Special events (e.g., graduations, class parties)

2. How do I book our photography day and what is the process?

To book a session, please contact us via our website, email, or phone. We’ll provide you with available dates and discuss how many days you will need plus the registration process.

I will provide you with flyers, posters, information for families 4 weeks before your booked day/week and give suggestions on activities/equipment to have ready.

Parents/guardians are required to register their child prior to photo day, this gives me permission to photograph their child. Only children who are registered will have their photos taken. Children need to be registered to be in the class photo.

On photo day I will work with the staff to make sure everything goes smoothly. Please let me know if you have any specific activities/external classes so I can work around these.

Families generally get their log in code within 7 days from the last day of photography, they can then choose what they would like to purchase. They will have 10 days to place their order.

Print orders are delivered to the centre generally within 4 weeks after the ordering window closes.

3. What should we prepare for the photo session?

To make photo day run smoothly it’s a good idea to prepare your children by talking about what will be happening, please use my name so I’m not ‘the camera lady’. Let them know it will be fun and not to be scared or worried. I tell lots of silly jokes and encourage them to be themselves.

I avoid the ‘say cheese’ approach as I prefer to get smiles and giggles naturally so they aren’t forced or the classic 4 year old grimace!

I have lots of suggestions for activities and equipment for centres to have available for children to engage with to get the best photos.

4. How long will it take?

I will typically take photos of up at 30 children per day. For larger centres we can discuss how many days you will need and which days are most suitable.

5. What happens if my child is shy, uncooperative or has a bad day?

I understand that children can have off days (don’t we all). I have a lot of experience with children so it is very rare that I can’t get at least a handful of images you will love. Please make a note when registering your child if you think I need any important information. Comfort toys can also help a child feel more relaxed, and it can be a great ice breaker. Because I take longer at centres than most photographers children often get used to me, and also see other children engaging, I take candid photos of the children playing, so sometimes they aren’t even aware that I have taken photos of them.

6. When will we receive our photos?

Edited photos are usually delivered within 4 weeks of the ordering cut off date. We’ll provide you with a link to download your digital images or delivery to your centre of physical prints, depending on the package you choose. All of the orders will be delivered to your centre at the same time and can not be delivered individually.

7. Can we order additional prints or products?

Yes, we offer a range of additional print options and products, including photo albums, canvases, and prints. You can view these options and place orders through our online gallery or by contacting us directly.

8. Can I combine images from both my children's galleries into one package? It takes time to photograph, edit and prepare each child’s gallery individually. Sibling photos are a third session, and for this reason each gallery is separate and requires it’s own package to be selected. Unfortunately you can not combine photos from different galleries to create one package. This was communicated during the registration process.

9. Why isn't the class photo in my gallery? For privacy reasons a composite class photo will not show up in your gallery. To order your class photo please select any image and choose the 'Class Photo' from the pricelist. If you are ordering a package that includes a class photo you do not need to do this. If your centre has requested a traditional class photo this will be in your gallery. You can not order a class photo as a digital file, this is because of privacy for the other children.

10. Why do the digital files cost more? Your digital files can be printed up to 16x24", which is huge! You can also print as many copies as you like, have canvases, albums etc made using them, share and keep them on file forever (perfect for the 18th + 21st slideshow). Because your options here are unlimited (except for the terms and conditions of course), they are priced to reflect this.

11. What if it’s raining?

Overcast days are actually the best for photographing children and a little bit of rain is generally ok to work with. I will try and find areas with good natural light under cover where we can continue. Some areas inside can be suitable for photos, so activities can be set up accordingly. My style of photography is most suited to outdoors so a reshoot day may need to be scheduled.

12. How do you handle privacy and data protection?

We take your privacy seriously. Personal information collected during the booking process is used solely for providing our services and is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. We do not share your information with third parties without your consent.

13. Can we use the photos for commercial purposes?

The photos provided are for personal use only. If you wish to use the images for commercial purposes, please contact us to discuss licensing options.

14. What should I do if I have concerns about the photos?

If you have any concerns or issues with the photos, please contact us within 7 days of receiving them. We’ll be happy to address any concerns and work with you to resolve any issues.
